Preface#
I still remember the first time I used hexo as my first blog experience. The hexo community provides a lot of themes and plugins, and there are many different effects. I often spend a long time trying to create a theme, forgetting the original intention of building a blog. Finally, after learning Vue, I decided to write my own blog. As follows:
This is also my first Vue project. It adopts a front-end and back-end separation approach. I used Django for the back-end, but this separation approach is not suitable for websites like blogs. However, I want my blog to be beneficial for SEO. Achieving this as a single-page application (SPA) is not easy. I have learned a lot and discovered some methods, such as using Django to write the content on the server-side rendering, or using Nuxt. However, this increases the learning cost, and my requirement is simply to write a blog. It seems that my requirement is very simple, but I have been pursuing various functions and forgetting the original intention. Isn't this the situation for most people nowadays? (❁´◡`❁).
Later, by chance, I accidentally found a master's blog, but I didn't pay attention to it at the time. I just thought it was amazing, why this blog appeared like this.
I didn't pay attention at that time, I just thought this master is very powerful, why is the blog related to blockchain? It wasn't until later when I was browsing GitHub that I accidentally discovered xlog. I looked at several people's blog pages and found that it allows you to easily and quickly have your own blog. Of course, this was also my first contact with blockchain-related things. Before this, I was limited to understanding and never thought about the relationship between blockchain, virtual currency, and blogs. 👀 This suddenly sparked my interest, so I migrated my previous blog to xlog. 😍😍😍
Finally, it is about convenience and security. Compared to renting a domain server, building a website, setting up an image hosting service, and purchasing a CDN, you don't have to worry about any of these when using xlog. All data on xlog, including configurations, articles, subscriptions, comments, etc., are signed and securely stored on the blockchain by you. Only you hold the private key to control and access them. No one, including xLog, can make any changes, so you don't have to worry about security issues. Love it, love it.
About the Community#
After using it for a few days, I found that the xlog community is very active, with various types of blogs. Everyone's enthusiasm is high, which cannot be fully experienced on my own independent blog. In the end, it is also the issue I am most worried about. I don't know how long xlog can persist, but I hope it will always be there and get better and better.
